Lakewood Ranch, FL is an arranged network situated in southeastern Manatee County and northeastern Sarasota County, Florida, the United States comprising of roughly 31,000 sections of land (13,000 ha). It is important for the North Port-Bradenton-Sarasota, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. 

The zone initially was collected in 1905 by John Schroeder as Schroeder-Manatee Ranch (SMR). The land was bought by individuals from Milwaukee's Uihlein family in 1922 for farm activities, for example, lumber and cows. In 1977, the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority reported aims to assemble another air terminal close to the Sarasota-Manatee province line around 10 to 20 miles (16 to 32 km) east of its present area, connecting to future Interstate 75. The air terminal position struck down the thought in 1985 and extended the current air terminal office. The air terminal proposition and the development of Interstate 75 brought about SMR's directorate to seek after making an arranged network for the land. 

During the 1980s, SMR planned an objective hotel venture called Cypress Banks.
