One of the most successful real estate developments by national architect Taylor Morrison was the Esplanade Golf & Country Club, one of the programs pursued by this NYSE-listed company to take advantage of the opportunities available through US-led housing recovery. The Esplanade at Azario in Lakewood Ranch brand and its development template was originally used as one of the latest additions to the master-planned Lockwood Range (LWR). Arizona-based developer Scottsdale has copied its motto in several subsequent projects - the Esplanade by Siesta Key, the other two Esplanades in Naples, and another in the parish.
Simply put, the active lifestyle is the primary driver of the Esplanade and its descendants in the Lockwood Ranch. The development of the association began in 2012 on a 600-acre site strategically located in Manati County, 70th North of State Road, on the northern border of Sarasota County.
Taylor Morrison has developed Esplanade at Azario in Lakewood Ranch as a gated and unmanaged community that combines luxury resort-type amenities with homeownership and meets the lifestyle needs and preferences of community residents. For example, the community owns a 6,000-square-foot clubhouse, with a full-time lifestyle director. The facility has a pool style, heated pool, spa, as well as a resistance pool.
Programs and facilities for fitness and health are part of the Esplanade Clubhouse offers. Available fitness classes include water, cardio, flexibility and strength training programs, as well as nutrition consultations and health and care seminars.
The fire pit and barbecue area clubhouse offers a number of options for dining, including a catering kitchen, grand ballroom, library, billiard room, cards and craft room. Play courts are also available for box and pick ball balls.
Esplanade's Amenity Center sales points add tennis facilities. Community residents can get professional advice from USTA / UPSTA tennis experts and participate in club-organized tournaments and competitions for members and guests. The clubhouse also has a fully stocked tennis pro shop and string and equipment repair services.
Do-it-yourself lifestyle activities are also offered. The Esplanade at Azario in Lakewood Ranch Amenity Center operates a fenced bark park, adventure playground, canoe and kayak launches, formal lawn and fitness lawn.
The compact 18-hole championship golf course offers Esplanade's active dot door lifestyle accent on a 130 - acre community. The par 72 semi-private layout is played in a tie at 6,716 yards, but the ladies are more tolerant of playing at 4,700 yards.
This course is recognizable for the relaxation game it offers. Its designer, renowned course architect Chris Wilsinski, allowed golfers to turn the ball green, increasing the playability of most of the 18 holes in the layout. To meet the challenge, more than 60 bunkers went into the design of the links, in addition to the water hazards coming through the nine holes in the L60.
